Is it Working?

Hello World,

So its been a LONG time since I've posted or blogged about a topic. That is because I've been having a very wonderful summer and a spectacular first week of school at Utah State University. Its been a very busy 3 or 4 months, a lot has changed for me, and a lot is going to probably change...well.... for me that is... i hope....maybe?

I had to say goodbye to one of my closest and best friends the other day because he is heading out on his own little journey to the Philippines as a missionary. I'm very happy for him and for the many things that he'll learn on his 2 year journey. I'm sure he'll find himself and learn many different things about life and that he'll change once he returns. I'm excited for that day to come, but for now all i have to do is wait and find myself out here back at home.

That brings me to one of my topics: Don't try to change yourself for other people.

You may know who you are right now and if changing yourself for others is alright with you then your fine, just don't let it consume you. You shouldn't have to be embarrassed with some of the aspects that make you well... you! If you find yourself acting differently around a group of people and your tailoring your behaviors to this group, just think that you don't have to change yourself for others to like you. If they truly like you they would accept you for who you really are. While we are this topic id like to share to you that i play the card game Magic: The Gathering, i did play Dungeons and Dragons and it was a very fun experience i do recommend it, i am a freak about video games such as Halo and Super Smash Brothers, I can tell you a ton of stuff about Megaman(or Rockman if your Japanese), Ive seen Tron Legacy about 5 times and the Original Tron about 4 even though the effects are kind of cheesy, yes i was little i did wish i was a knight in the medieval ages fighting dragons and creatures, Ive played about every single Pokemon Game that has come out(Except for those weird adventure ones with the rangers and puzzle games...), and i do listen to 8-bit music from time-to-time because it is pretty awesome. Does this change your view on me? Maybe a little if you didn't know me before hand. Do i care? Not really, because that is who i am and i truly do like who Ive become.

The moral of the story: "Don't change yourself to please others." Simple as that.

Camera Tip Visual Effects Trick of the Day:

So I'm gonna start doing these every blog entry when i actually do an entry so bare with me if i do give good advise or it is a little sketchy.

-When using your camera to record events or shots for a movie, try switching positions and give the viewers a different perspective every now and then to spice things up. It helps tell the story better and its visually appealing(and it beats holding that camera in the same spot for a whole 20 minutes...dang that hurts your arms sometimes.)

The Times We Had

Hello there,

Times change, seasons pass, and things move forward. Finals are over with as you might know already, and college got out. Summer is about to start. But where is the excitement? Well, it was hard to leave this past few days from logan to salt lake city. It was a sad day because i would be leaving the friends i held so dear to me for about roughly 4 months or so. It wasnt easy, but im sure we all will pull through with it as they might be going through the same deal. But for now all i can say is thank you. Thank you for this last semester of awesome. Thank you for all the excitement and fun we all had together. Thank you for listening and being thoughtful. Thank you for always being there. Thank you Taylor, Kelsie, Danielle, Brad, Ellis, Corbin, and Travis. You guys made college what is should be and i thank you for it. This past few weeks of finals and school were bearable thanks to you guys. I will always remember you and the excitement and fun we had together.

Thank you.

Later Days,

Remember that time?

Hello there,

Have you ever listened to a song and it reminded you of a certain point in time of your life? Ever listen to a song that just reminded you of what it was like in the past and how you ever even liked that type of music or how old it was? Well im going through that right now as it is time for me to make a new playlist on my itunes. As im listening to all the selections i have, it just reminds me of what i listened to in like junior high and how i loved these songs and would listen to them non-stop. Im pretty sure they were in my top 25 playlist even though i didnt really like it that much. IF you didnt know this, i use to, and still kind of am, a fan of The Cab, but as time went on i didnt really try to find some of their new stuff. BUT here i am listening to their older stuff that i use to listen to my Sophomore year in high school and it all just reminds me of that period in time. Then i ask myself... What was i doing back then? Or what did i do to get here?

Then i think: "Well Aaron, your here in the present right now. Why not enjoy all the new things that are happening, and let the past be the past? Yeah? Okay cool." So yeah. Theres your moral of the story. Let the past be the past, thats where its meant to be or else it wouldnt be called the past... Theres no point in dwelling into it either because its kind of a waste of time if you think about it. Enjoy the present! Enjoy the new occurrences that are presented before you and the new people that you've met and how they will stick with you from here on out.

On a side note, Ive revised my top 10 artists that i love. So check it out down there:

1. Relient K
2. Fun/The Format
3. Panic! At the Disco
4. Hellogoodbye
5. Motion City Soundtrack
6. I Fight Dragons
7. Ludo
8. All Time Low
9. Fall Out Boy
10. The Fray

The Other Side Of The Grass.

Im sick. Im sick of sitting here. Im sick of sitting here waiting for life to hit me. To knockout all the air inside me. Im sick of waiting for things to go my way. For things to finally change in life. You ever wonder why we must go through the daily routine of waking up and doing the same thing? Why we must deal with the same problem and continually rushing through. Even then facing the same problem and expecting change is progression in an opposite way. Im sick of remembering what i used to have. What i used to think was right. What i used to want to do. What i remember was wrong with me. What my mistakes were. What i could have done right. What i did to have this happen to me. What i did to her to make her do that.

Im ready for change. Im ready to go through life and expect a whole new view. A new view that changes me for the good. Im ready for a change that will improve my personality. My behavior. My ethics. My feelings. And my life. Im ready for new people. What i want is to change myself for the better good of me. I want to wake up and be willing to go out and find myself. I want to wake up, dress nice, feel good, feel confident enough to talk and get to know the cute girl thats sitting a ways down from me. I want to wake up and instead of waiting for a good day to happen, i want to make it happen. I want to wake up to Ready To Go by Panic at the Disco and be so moved by the tunes to do anything and over come everything that stands in my way. Im ready for my life to start already. Im ready for what lies on the other side of the grass.

Longboarders Unite!!

Hey there,

So one recreational activity thats been picking up lately here in Utah State is Longboarding! Its one fun thing to do and a great way to get around campus if your in a hurry or just want a good cruise. I think since the suns been out lately and there hasnt been nasty weather longboarding seems to be the best activity to do outside for a while, and i can agree to that!

So ive been longboarding since about last September when i actually got my long board. So until now, ive finally decided to pickup some of the awesome tricks that you can do on long boards. I started out simple with a Speed Check. Thats where you have your back foot hanging off a bit and kind of pushing with it to create a slide effect, it helps to slow down your speed a tad bit when your going down hill and stuff. Ive been working on those and i can do them a whole lot more frequent than i use to, also i can do them a lot more wide like. One thing that ive also been working on is a Coleman Slide with a pair of slide glove. I made my own gloves so that i could do hands down tricks.

This is the model of my long board:

With these Sector 9 Racing Formula 76 mm wheels and a durometer of 80a (I know, there a little scandalous)

Bad News:

While doing some of the tricks that ive learned with a few of my friends i recently kind of curbed the front of my long board... it sucks...

Good News:

I most likely going to get a new board over the summer when i can pay for one!

5 Reasons Why I Should Buy A New Board:

1). Its kind of damaged.

2). Its not Symmetrical, In which it has only one front and one back. I need a board that when i can pull off a 180 slide or coleman slide ill be riding the same way on the board.

3). I need a concave board.

4). I need a board that is built for downhill riding and free riding.

5). Last but not least.... I REALLY want to get a new one, because i want to make a better decision this time.

These are the boards im looking into getting:

With maybe these wheels:

Cool Huh?!

Im truly excited for a new board. I just need about $250 to spend! Shouldnt be that hard to get that much money... haha.

Later Days.

Up Until Now!

Hey world,

So ive been pretty bad at this whole blogging things... i guess i wasnt made out to do it. But whatever! Im still going to keep you guys updated when i can!

So as you know, Utah State University holds it annual Humans vs. Zombies week during Res Life week so i got to participate in it and thinking in the beginning that i wont care when i die. So me and my roommate Taylor started out on Tuesday and signed up. Me and him were put into the Factions Red Soloman! The theme for this year was The War of the Harbingers which was a super cool idea! We went to all the night missions. The first one we went to we saw no action at all... it kind of disappointed me and made me feel like i was put in the group that wasnt capable enough to handle zombies... so i was ticked after that.

The next day we went to the day mission and that was a load of fun!! It was some kind of Zombie Safari mission where we got to hunt the zombies. Thats right. Hunt them!! EPIC!!! But there was a catch... there always is. They were normal zombies, they were super zombies. Such as:

Elephant Zombies: can only be hit by sock balls, no darts

Gazelles: They run away from you. (Wimps...)

Crab's: They can only be hit in the front, therefore their back are protected.

Deathtouch: You die no matter what when tagged, no Antidote will save you from him.

I believe thats all of the normal zombies that you should know of... But yeah, the Safari was fun! i took down a Elephant and a Crab zombie scoring 16 points for our faction Soloman!

The night mission after that was a super fun one and a way for me to prove myself! I was assigned to help out our fellow warriors in a gauntlet that the zombies had to run through. In doing so, i volunteered to become a super human for that nights mission! I got the position of Sniper! Its as long as im touching a tree of some sort im a safe zone and protected from being tagged by zombies in the exception of a death touch. I survived that night, but in the lose of our mission objective.... dang. Oh well! it was a super fun night mission and i regained my energy as a human!

The next day mission was the last day mission till the final one! So it was capture the flag Humans vs. Zombie style!! So here a synopsis of the game:

You have humans and zombies. You split the zombies into two groups of equal numbers and same goes for the humans. Each team has a pair of humans and zombies. The goal of the game is to retrieve the enemies flag. The humans are assigned to guard the flag only, they cannot go out and retrieve the flag so thats what the zombies are for, they must retrieve the flag. Zombies cant tag zombies unless you make a rule for defender zombies. So its an epic game! go out and try it!

So the day came for the final mission! You had to qualify to run the last 4 gauntlets of zombies... which kind of sucked... because i didnt make it. they grouped us into 5 groups of 4 or 5, i had 4, and then they put us against 8 zombies. I took out 3 zombies total and one snuck up from behind and tagged me... it stinked. So i was a zombie after that. in the end, we all gathered around and took pictures and celebrated! But our beloved Brice Colby, Harbinger of all Harbingers and bad A, was resigning his position in Humans vs. Zombies due to graduation. dang... he will be missed and loved and the game will never be the same without him!

So there you have it! my super cool humans vs. zombies experience!!

Later days,

Aaron Lam.

Why hello there! I havent posted anything in a while. so i thought i would do it now!

I am taking 2 frickin math classes. Math 1050 and 1060. 1060 is new to me and its pretty interesting i have to admit. 1050 is a pain in my you know where... but ill get through it.

2).
I am currently planning on filming a music video for spring break! Cha man! its gonna be pretty awesome. I have to admit, its gonna rock your socks once you see it. Ill probably be screening it the Monday after USU's spring break somewhere.

Little spoiler: i shall be using cardboard instruments. Just to get you thinking of what might happen.

3).
This Friday is gonna be a super exciting and probably nervous day. I will be attending my Dorm Halls Speak-easy dance/mock-tail party along with competing in a billiards tournament. Ive been training for the  longest time to compete in this tournament. I hope to take the competition and win, but im also looking for a great time. Wish me luck!

4).
One of my best friends is now out in the field for his mission. He is currently located in Berlin, Germany. I wish him the best of luck, and i need to respond to his letter and email soon. I know he'll do his family, and our group of friends great and amazing things! I hope he is doing good!

Well thats all i got for you today. Ill try to stay update on this little blog thingy, but no promises.

Later Days.
